Fake Meat and Empty Threats

These are so good! Fry them up with peppers and onions, slap it on a tortilla and Y-U-M. I am addicted.

We have been having smaller dinners that consist largely of fruits and veggies, and eating our bigger meal as a late lunch. I have also started buying only organic beef (when I buy beef, which is mainly for meatloaf) and the difference is astounding (also: try baking up some yams instead of white potatoes with that meatloaf). Another good food tip... Contadina makes squeezable pizza sauce. I keep it on hand with a bag of shredded mozzarella and whole wheat flatbread. Sometimes we use leftover homemade bread for french bread pizzas. It is much healthier than store pizzas or delivery, and makes leftovers more interesting. I have been playing a lot with my recipes. I am sure there will be more to come. It's so fun to ramble on about food, even if there is very little to say.

Possible menu addition: 'Dogs in a Blanket (Well, I can't touch the pigs!)

I love, LOVE those! :-) We also love BOCA burgers. They are delicious. Our kids eat the strips, and usually our picky-eater son won't eat meat. He does eat them. :) When I buy meat I normally buy turkey meat. It's sometimes cheaper than hamburger and it's super low in fat and all. I buy turkey bacon completely now. Course, hubby didn't like it at first. lol But now he really likes it.

Have a great weekend!

I'll try it but I'm not going to say I'm going to like it. Love ya babe.
P.S. Don't touch the Dog.

I buy a lot of ground turkey as well. I have some Morningstar Crumbles to try, but we don't use crumbled hamburger in hardly anything. I like turkey bacon too. Pork really isn't good for ya, but I am finding it hard to get completely away from crispy bacon!

Do I have you converted yet??

Also, that dog definitely belongs in your family! He's as silly as the rest of you!
