Caching in at Our New Secret Place

We found a new spot today, hidden away in the middle of the big city. A lovely little wilderness to spend the 'not summer' time in.

First cache of the day. Sophia led the way!

...but she didn't get too far ahead.

Papa points out a few squirrels' nests.

Crunch, crunch, (hee hee!) crunch...
"You can do it..."
"It's a lot easier to go downhill than uphill."

Found the second one! Noah led the way, but Soph spotted it.

Yeah!

We scared this little dude. I have been all over the internet, and I still have no idea what kind of snake he is. Juvenile though, I think.

Evidence of termites and fungus decomposing this fallen tree. God thought of everything!

And (just for fun) I make an appearance in this post!

Hooray for cool weather!

Love it! :) I have never done a geo cache, but I've heard great things about them. One day, I will take the kids and go. Great pictures too!

Have a wonderfully blessed weekend!

Sonja, have you tried Letterboxing? It is lower tech and a little more artsy. I was thinking about starting letterboxing activities with the kids around the house (like a scavenger hunt). Google it, you might like to start there :o)

Looks like a great day!
We haven't tried letterboxing or caching yet, but I'm sure we'll get to one or the other eventually. ;)
