What is Important?

Listening to them before speaking. Inviting them, involving them. TELLING THEM THE TRUTH. Explaining. Encouraging. Playing babies. Being the dragon, being the bear. Making the pancakes into their favorite shapes. Letting them do it by themselves. Patience. Understanding their frustration. Listening to their hearts. Holding them in their pain. The mutual understanding that none of us is perfect. Apologizing and forgiving. Being thankful always. Showing respect. Taking the time. Sharing a meal, sharing a story, sharing their joy. Learning alongside one another. Creating something new. Setting the example. Laughing and acting nuts together. Wearing a silly hat because it makes them smile. Smiling back at them. Knowing that no matter how much you love them, there is One who loves them more. And making sure they know it, too.

That is so true. But I don't even think it scratches the surface of what a wonderful mother you are to our babies.
